Soyballs post baking, originally uploaded by campdancer2000.

The idea:
Find a protein replacement for meat balls.

The solution:
Soak dried soybeans for 12 hours
then cook in slow cooker for another 12 hours, or until soft.

Rinse them off and let cool a little bit.

Mash/pulverize/make a paste, adding:
a bit of water
and the following are all optional to taste as you go!

curry powder
chili powder
salt and pepper
garam masala
tumeric
coriander

Whatever you like!

Mix well and using a 1 tablespoon measuring spoon, measure out balls and roll.

Place on a lightly oiled cooking sheet and back in a 400 degree oven for about 15 minutes.

Each ball has 40 calories according to where I was able to find info.
Freeze and pop into your favorite soup as desired to give you a nice hit of whole food protein!

On a related note, I have been losing weight since September with my hubby WTL, and now he is on the final 25 lbs and has set up a challenge to anyone wanting to join in!  Read all about it and join us on Twitter, Flickr, your own blog or wherever!
