Happy Halloween/ Samhain/ New year!
Quietly awaiting any potential shoppers during my home studio open house, I decided to read the book from a “new to me” tarot card set I received from a friend < thanks Lori!> a few months ago.
Trusting my instincts, I felt like grabbing it and settling in with it between folks coming to clear out dance costume items and other stuff that is passing through me on its way to new homes< thus the open house>.
I always like to read the book first, getting a feel for the nature of the deck. Every deck has a distinct story and this one has a similar foundation to a standard tarot, according to the descriptions, with some additional cards added for specific reasons… Click here for some info: http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/shapeshifter/
And as I am likely to do, I had Sprocket < perhaps my familiar, perhaps just my crazy companion animal, perhaps a psychic on her own trapped in that furry body…> guide me as to what card I needed to really see today.
Slowly flipping the pages, making eye contact with her, I stopped when she looked away.
This is the card/page that came up:
End of a cycle.
So many meanings, but that part of it absolutely rings true today.
Having ended my own direct involvement with teaching classes and performing regularly, it is the end of a cycle. And that’s ok.
Having had a fairly quiet day today, when I once could boast hosting a Dancers’ Bazaar that brought out 400 patrons, it is the end of a cycle for me. And that is ok.
Knowing that by ending one cycle, new adventures will come my way, as I free up time and energy to give to possibilities, that is ok.
But Dance Friends – rest assured – I’ll still be stalking you online and coming out to see you perform! And I’ll be happy to make you costumes when you need them!!
And I have cookies…
It is an annual event put on by the Ottawa Bonsai Society, and it is lovely.
The trees are amazing, the folks knowledgeable and the demo was super informative!
It may not be in my immediate future to sign up for the courses they offer, but it certainly inspired me to go get my new little bummer plant:

Thanks to my gang of friends who came over today for our monthly crafty potluck of fun!
Here are pics of what we did today!!
Ending my summer break with a spurt of creativity for our niece.
K, having moved to a new space, I wanted to get her a housewarming something- her parents are fine with nothing more than good wishes, being the minimalists they are…🤗.
I had spotted this mirror on one of my morning walks, where on occasion folks put out stuff they are giving away, in hopes it will find a new home.
And so, I began by asking K for a list of her fave colours. And then I let things do what they wanted…
I could have simply left it black on white, but I wanted to add the colours for the fun of it- and she can always repaint it herself in the future!
I had a thought…so I mixed:
With this:
And got this when I put the batter in my mini frypan:
Then I topped it with natural nut butter…
And it’s pretty good.
Next time/while camping I’ll add fresh fruit or some unsweetened berry preserves ….
Quick and easy!
Tavalonia’s Oats and Egg
Mix the oats and water and let sit for soften for 3 minutes.
Add the egg and cook batter over medium heat on the stove top in a frypan with a lid.
Flip when bubbles show along the edges ( like a pancake).
Serve as you like!
I have a plethora of plants and cuttings for anyone looking to add to their household greenery!
I did the Mother’s Day visit a week late.
and I asked Mom to thinking about what she would like to do together: suggestions from me were: pedicure? Painting?
She quickly sent back a reply with “ Dirty Pour- look it up on YouTube…”, and proceeded to let me know she had almost everything needed and I brought a couple of extra bottles of paint , a box to fit my one canvas so I could bring it home flat, and that was that.
So I headed to her place and after deciding on colours, she guided me through a fun and colourful afternoon!
Here are some pics for now- I’ll edit video later and get it up too!

No, I’m not going to talk about the movie.
